Bovi-Shield® GOLD FP® 5 VL5, developed by Zoetis, is a modified-live virus and bacterin combination vaccine designed to protect healthy cattle against key respiratory and reproductive diseases. It safeguards against infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR), bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) Types 1 and 2, parainfluenza 3 (PI3), bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV), Campylobacter fetus (Vibrio), and five Leptospira serovars (canicola, grippotyphosa, hardjo, icterohaemorrhagiae, and pomona). Administer a single 2 mL intramuscular dose approximately one month prior to breeding, followed by a Vibrio/Lepto booster 3–4 weeks later. A 12-month duration of immunity has been demonstrated against IBR-induced abortion and persistently infected calves caused by BVD Types 1 and 2. The vaccine is safe for pregnant cows and calves nursing pregnant cows, provided the dams were vaccinated according to label directions within the past 12 months. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Store at 2°–8°C and avoid freezing.
