    Description

    Oxytocin Injection is a veterinary medication containing 20 USP units of oxytocin per mL in a 100 mL sterile solution. It is indicated for use in mares, cows, sows, and ewes to stimulate uterine contractions during labor, assist with postpartum uterine involution, manage retained placenta, and promote milk let-down. It is commonly administered intramuscularly, subcutaneously, or intravenously, depending on the clinical situation. Typical dosage includes 5 mL for cows and horses, and 1.5–2.5 mL for sows and ewes for obstetrical purposes. For milk let-down, 0.5–1 mL is used in cows and 0.25–1 mL in sows. This product should be used only under veterinary supervision.
