Description

Cyclosporine Modified 25 mg capsules are a veterinary prescription medication designed to treat atopic dermatitis and other immune-mediated skin disorders in dogs and cats. By selectively suppressing T-cell activation, cyclosporine reduces the immune response, leading to chronic inflammation and itching. This makes it an effective alternative to corticosteroids, minimizing long-term side effects.

The typical starting dose for dogs is 2.5 mg per pound of body weight, administered once daily until clinical improvement is observed, usually within 4–8 weeks. Based on the pet's response, the dosage may then be tapered to every other day or less. Capsules should be given at least one hour before or two hours after meals, with plenty of water available.

Common side effects include vomiting, diarrhea, and decreased appetite. Cyclosporine should not be used in pets with a history of neoplasia or hypersensitivity to the drug. Regular veterinary monitoring is recommended to ensure safety and efficacy during treatment.
